April 2020: We Did Alright.

April 2020 is a month that'll go down in history. Stores, restaurants, and businesses all around the world were closed. Heck, whole entire COUNTRIES were shut down for that matter. Employees everywhere were working from home. People were on "stay-at-home" orders and asked to not leave their house unless it was essential. We will probably never experience anything like that again in our lifetime - and it's crazy to think that we even experienced it in the first place.

As small business owners, it was very scary to think about all of the what if's that were associated with the situation. Not just personally, but professionally too. It's one thing to be working from home and feeling completely secure in your job...it's a whole other thing to be very unsure about what the future holds and whether you'll have a job in 3 months time.

We were worried at first. But then, when we stopped to think about it, it wasn't so different than what we usually feel at work. Of course, the whole "going-through-a-pandemic" thing was new... but in the small business world, NOTHING is ever guaranteed. It's always kind of the feeling that we might be on the verge of not having a job 3 months from now. So we did our best to take the situation in stride and press on!

THE NUMBERS

Though there were some long discussions about how to use funds, what to move forward with and what projects to press pause on, and how else to adjust during April, we are incredibly pleased and in awe about what we accomplished throughout the month. The total number for the month was 2,312 items. 2,312!!! We exceeded all of the goals that we had set for our donation items during a global pandemic! For us to be able to give those items to Toledo Gospel Rescue Mission during this time is incredible. Once again, we are blown away by the generosity of people who support us. Without our Sky community, this wouldn't have been possible.
